However, we recognize that the situation remains dynamic, and changes may occur. Please check your college’s website for any specific updates.
We understand that ongoing conditions may still pose challenges for some of our employees and students. We ask everyone to remain flexible and communicate directly with supervisors or instructors as necessary to ensure smooth operations and address individual needs.

We are closely monitoring changing weather conditions and as of this evening, operations continue in-person tomorrow. However, the situation is dynamic and subject to change, and we encourage you to check your college website for specific details.
We understand that ongoing conditions may still impact both employees and students. We ask everyone to remain flexible and communicate directly with supervisors or instructors as needed to ensure smooth operations and address individual circumstances.
- Students with scheduled in-person classes should be prepared to attend on campus unless otherwise instructed by their instructor. If you are unable to attend, please contact your instructor as soon as possible.
- Employees unable to return to their worksite tomorrow must contact their supervisor promptly.

Students with scheduled in-person classes should be prepared to attend on campus unless otherwise instructed by their instructor. Details regarding any necessary adjustments will be provided directly by instructors. Students who are not able to attend class, please contact your instructor as soon as it is possible.

Dear LACCD Family,
We hope this message finds you safe. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires, and we stand with you during these challenging times, sending our heartfelt support.
In light of recent updates regarding the fires, we have decided to continue remote services and convert all in-person classes and support services to Zoom or online platforms for Friday, January 10th, and Saturday, January 11th.
- Employees: If your job cannot be performed remotely, please discuss options with your supervisor.
- Students: If you are enrolled in in-person classes, please be prepared to attend your class online or via Zoom. Your instructor will provide the necessary details.
We anticipate returning to normal operations on Monday, January 13th. However, this remains a dynamic situation, and we encourage everyone to monitor their college websites for any updates or changes.

Dear LACCD Family,
We hope you remain safe. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires. We stand with you during these challenging times and send our heartfelt support.
We continue to monitor the impact of the fires and have decided to physically close the college sites, and move all in-person classes and support services to zoom or online for Thursday, January 9.
Employees whose job can't be performed from home remotely, shall take the Day of Mourning granted by the District. This includes but is not limited to Local 99, Trades, other employees in plant facilities and student workers.
Students attending in person classes should be prepared to take their class online or on zoom. Your instructor will communicate with details.

LACCD ALERT
Due to ongoing fires and weather conditions, most LACCD campuses remain open; however, there are specific impacts to employees and students.
LA Mission College (LAMC) Update:
All LAMC campuses, including the Pacoima location, are temporarily closed. In-person classes and Student Service support will be conducted online. The LAMC East campus is currently experiencing a power outage. For ongoing updates, please visit lamission.edu/hurstfire
General Guidance:
Avoid areas with heavy tree cover or unsecured objects during high winds. Be mindful of air quality and limit outdoor activities if smoke is present. Report any on-campus hazards like downed branches to your campus facilities office or Sheriff's Office. If impacted by fires or evacuations, employees should notify supervisors, and students unable to attend class should inform instructors.
Our priority is your safety, and we will provide updates affecting college operations as needed.

I want to provide an update regarding the fires and current weather conditions.
At this time, all LACCD campuses remain open. If conditions change or require adjustments to operations, we will provide timely updates as we continue to assess the situation.
Our facilities and emergency teams are actively working to address the potential impacts of these conditions.
We encourage everyone to stay safe and prepared:
- Avoid areas with heavy tree cover or unsecured objects during high winds.
- Be mindful of air quality and limit outdoor activities if smoke from fires is present in your area.
- Report downed branches, trees, or other hazards to your campus facilities office immediately.
- Follow all instructions from local authorities and emergency personnel in the event of an emergency.
- Stay informed with local news and monitor campus-specific announcements.
If you are personally impacted by the wind, fires, or are being evacuated, please communicate with your supervisor as soon as possible so we can provide support and ensure continuity of operations. If you are a student and unable to attend class, please notify your instructor.
